Our heritage is rich in western imagery and the very meaning of quality and independence were bred into the lifeblood of our being. Our craftsmen are a testament to this as experts in the knowledge of bootmaking. The Champion Family Brand has been a well known industry leader in custom western boots for 75 years. Ildefonso Sanchez came to America seeking the dream and liberty that this Country offered. Upon settling in El Paso and, using his skills as a boot craftsman, Ildefonso worked alongside Tony Lama at Fort Bliss. He passed on the tradition to his children and each generation added to the knowledge and reputation of the family brand. Joe Sanchez, partner of Champion Boot Company the third generation, helped to create El Paso's great image of "Boot Capital of the World" as a consultant and sub contractor for such well known brands as Tony Lama, Justin, Nocona and Dan Post when the cowboy boot business was seeing a huge growth in popular American culture each of those companies sought out his expertise in setting up shop along the border where hand crafts and talent were plentiful at the time.
